In 'Tory twat of the week award', I argued that Lord Mancroft's pathetic description of nurses as 'grubby' was lazy, inept, untrue and based on vile prejudice. I also pointed out that, if he really thought things were that bad, he could have bothered to say something at the time rather than waiting months later and complaining in the Lords like the crusty old unelected no-talent fossil he is.
But now norovirus has broken out at the hospital he complained about, several months later, it's a ringing endorsement of the crumbling old buffoon's rant - at least, according to the Hate:
Tory peer vindicated after Novovirus shuts four wards at 'grubby' hospital he attacked
Yes, clearly a vindication. For fuck's sake. Who are the children who write this shit?
When a Tory peer launched a stinging attack on the "grubby and drunken" nurses he encountered in the NHS, the hospital employing them defended them to the hilt.
It demanded evidence of Lord Mancroft's damning allegations and to this day says it has found not a shred of truth in his complaints.
And neither has the Mail.
But yesterday the Royal United Hospital in Bath was forced to defend its standards yet again after having to close wards as it was hit by its third disease outbreak in five months.
Illness? At a hospital, you say? What?! This kind of thing never happened in my day! Bring Back Matron! Bring Back Matron! Bring Back Matron! Bring Back... etc
It currently has three wards closed due to the winter vomiting bug Norovirus, which spreads through closed communities rapidly if patients and staff fail to wash their hands.
But let's blame the staff. Can't be the patients - or visitors - can it? Must be those evil nurses, trained in barrier control, who ignore everything because they're pissed all the time and sometimes have a social life.
At the end of last month Lord Mancroft, the 50-year-old vice chairman of the Countryside Alliance, revealed he had been appalled by the filthy condition of the wards at the hospital, where he was treated for gastroenteritis.
Gastroenteritis... isn't that, er, an illness that can be caught by not washing your hands properly? Mancroft must've got it from a nurse he bumped into in the street or something.
The Royal United is one of at least 40 hospital trusts to be hit this year by the virus, which causes diarrhoea and vomiting.
But the only one slagged off by this loathsome tosswipe Mancroft, so the only one the Mail gives a shit about.
The hospital said:
“We still have no factual basis for Lord Mancroft's evidence whatsoever."
And nor does anyone else. Oh you can bet your balls that newspapers went straight down to that hospital to find evidence of dirt and grime once they heard from Mancroft - reporters were sent down. Yet they found nothing. No expose of evil muck. No evidence to Bring Back Matron. So the stories weren't written.
“We have asked him for a meeting, which he has agreed to, but we are still awaiting a date from him.”
Too busy washing his hands?
