Optimism
Thanks for all the kind comments, words, messages etc after yesterday's rather gloomy post. I don't mean things to be gloomy but sometimes it's just how they come out because that's how I'm feeling at the time; often things are pleasant, or optimistic, or cheerful, or quixotic, but occasionally they will be gloomy, as will I. This being a personal blog rather than an issue-focused one, this is going to happen from time to time. We'll get through it all together.
Anyway, look. There will be jokes. We'll all pull our ripcords and float down to Littlejohn island, each and every one of us, and we'll luxuriate in the white sands there. In the meantime, you might have to put up with some rubbish, for which I apologise in advance.
As you may have probably noticed, I'm spending a lot of time over at my other blog for the time being. I don't think this will be the case all the time, but I am trying to put my best efforts in over there, for reasons which are I'm sure are rather obvious. But I'm finding it pretty enjoyable. If you haven't seen the recent posts there, go and have a look. I'm having fun, and learning a lot, I think. I hope you like it, anyway.
None of which means this place is going to wither away and die - far from it. But as the Job Club looms larger and larger on the horizon for me, with no new employment in sight, I'm going to have to concentrate on some other stuff for a while. But I'll keep going. There's so much stuff I want to say, and don't get around to saying - which is, as we all know, why most of us who ended up bloggers started blogging in the first place. There will be jokes, and posts about stuff I can't stand, and every now and then I'll spend the entire day moderating vexatious comments, because that's so much fun... but for the foreseeable, you'll just get some bits and bobs. Funny bits and bobs, I hope. Good bits and bobs, maybe. We'll see.
Anyway, just another thank you to everyone who responded to yesterday. As ever I am touched by the amazing way in which so many people are so kind and so generous, people I know well and people I hardly know at all. It is all so very appreciated.

It’s your blog, sometimes you get gloomy, unemployment can be miserable. But I’ve been there, and so I just wanted to let you know that it will get better, and that even people you don’t know care.
Thanks for the link to the other blog, I will be sure to read it.
