The story - a teenage girl tried to enter Britain illegally by hiding in a car dashboard. The newspaper - the Mail. The response?

oh dear i am in rather a despairing mood today. i've said it before, these papers de-humanise foreign people so deeply and so unashamedly that the readers seem unable to identify people who are going through extreme suffering as people. As one of the commenters says- more sympathy for animals
