I hereby pledge to donate the price of a charity single to a Haiti disaster appeal fund, but only if Simon Cowell and Bono do not release a charity single.

Who's with me?

  1. Oh bugger yes!

Why don't the pair of super-millionaires just open their wallets instead of the inevitable ego massaging and torturing the rest of us?

  2. I'll sign up for that ;o)

  3. as if the people of Haiti havent suffered enough

  4. Like it :) There's a good idea at XRRF this morning; Instead of re-hashing Band Aid yet again, why not pledge all future earnings of an existing track to the appeal? Not just single sales, but earnings from airplay, etc. That way people would be buying a track they actually like, and the cause would get a long-term source of funding, probably of more help to them in rebuilding, rather than one big burst.

  5. I'm in. I'll donate the price of an album if they don't do that either.

  6. Absolutely.

  7. I'm in!

  8. i'd buy two! Three if you bar Elton John's participation as well!

  9. Where do I sign?

  10. Don't just sit there, start a campaign to get World+Dog to download The 13th Floor Elevators' track "Earthquake".

  11. Oh Yes! In fact – I'll give another £5

  12. If whassname and other whassname do not release a charity record I pledge the price of a charity record AND FURTHERMORE the price of a hammer, with which any Haitian who is unfortunate enough to be given a talking Bible by an American church (yes, really, they are) may use to shut the damn thing up.

  13. too late… Bono's already done on with Jay-Z

  14. The PM rang me a few days ago and told me – whatever you do, don't buy anything Cowell or Bono do.

The Sun rang me and begged me not to buy anything that Simon Cowell has anything to do with.

I'm not sure what he's doing, who will be involved, or how crap it's going to be, but believe me, I will get this done.
