Mail agrees with foreign feminists

I love the Mail. I hate it but I love it. You've got to love the chutzpah of these people, for one thing. Here's a wonderful piece from the Mail in which they go along with the views of foreign feminists. Er, what? Yes, oh yes!

The feminists in question complained about adverts that degraded women. Now of course we wouldn't know how degrading those adverts were without seeing them, so the Mail handily reproduces all of them in full glorious colour, including a close-up of a woman's bum, a naked woman wrapped in fur, a naked woman covered in spaghetti...

No reader comments. Shame, I'm sure we can trust the Mail readers to be sympathetic to their feminist sisters. Can't we...?

Anyway, as Buff the Banana with Paul Dacre notes, the Mail this week has carried vital news stories of interest to women, including Britney Spears nearly exposing her breasts, Pamela Anderson revealing a nipple, Amanda Holden nearly slipping out of her dress (are you seeing a theme here?), Bond girl Olga's racy past, Britney Spears (again) in a variety of revealing outfits and Kelly Brook showing off her bum.

Plenty for feminists everywhere to enjoy there, then.

  1. Quite aside from anything else, shouldn’t the headline read “The advert most degrading to women”…? The Mail are clearly so incensed/obsessed with looking at female bodies that they forgot how to structure a coherent sentence…
