A new low – update update
The article has now been pulled from the Express's website. Whether that's down to the complaints they've received about it, from people contacting the PCC, or from the simple fact that it was a total farce from start to finish, is anyone's guess.
Now, will there be an apology?

They won’t apologise if they can get away with it. I’ve saved a cached copy.
(Oooh, and thanks for the link.)

Doing a bit of research reveals that over a year ago, our Paula did a story attacking Norman Tebbit for ‘angering’ the people of Dunblane. The hypocrisy increases.

I suspect your excellent piece on it had some part to play in it…it certainly moved me to complain.

Interesting that Derek Lambie, the Scottish Sunday Express editor has responded to Tim at Bloggerheads. Claims that Elizabeth Smith MSP knew she was talking about Dunblane to Murray. She “is on tape speaking about this. We have full transcript”
OK someone here is lying. I’m siding with the Tory here (words I never thought I’d write!) over the hack. Simply because I think that Lambie is more mendacious than Smith is stupid. No one, surely, is that stupid?
