Slow progress
Just when you think the Catholic church has lumbered into the 17th century by saying Galileo Galilei wasn't a bad egg after all, Benny 16 goes and makes a tit of himself by launching into a frenzy over teh gayz.
Hey ho. Well, these things take time. It could be a while before the giant fundamentalist religions of the world embrace the reality of human life, but we can all wait in the meantime, can't we.

As a Christian myself I find it particularly depressing because someone as high profile as the pope trotting out shite like this just tars the rest of us (and there an awful of perfectly normal, reasonable Christians, and indeed members of other religions out there) with the same fundamentalist brush.
My church appearances tend to be weddings, Christmas, St George’s day with my cubs and such like, and it is stuff like this that is the exact reason why.
I nearly wrote a post about it myself but am trying to be happy and optimistic for the Christmas period!
