Labour is the party of class war

Unfortunately, the class they're at war with isn't the ruling class, but everyone else, and especially the poor. At a time of soaring unemployment, they decide the best thing to do is take away the benefits of those who can't get a job; and now, at a time of economic crisis and rising debt, there are going to be more powers for bailiffs to bash down the doors of and beat the shit out of use reasonable force to restrain people who can't afford to pay their debts.

Yes, nothing could possibly go wrong with giving men (some of whom will have convictions for violence) free reign to be violent towards distressed and emotional people whose houses have just been broken into. Can't see a problem there at all. Makes perfect sense.

  1. There’s also been a bit of somersaulting on the proposal to charge interest on social fund loans (the state loans for the truly desperate). I read the actual consultation paper a couple of weeks or so ago and it was definitely in there, now the government is saying that they never intended to do this it was just ‘poor frafting’.

Oh yeah, and one of the aspects of the measures to ‘increase help’ for mortgage payments for benefit claimants is to cap the entitlement of Jobseekers Allowance claimants to mortgage interest help to 2 years. Not quite sure how that qualifies as ‘increeasing help’ but there you go.
