Enemies of Reason Poundshop potshots at the media moral maze.

Remember this?

From the Mail's bewilderingly ridiculous contract of website usage. You promise not to post anything:

that is threatening, defamatory, offensive, abusive, liable to incite racial hatred, discriminatory, blasphemous, pornographic, in breach of confidence, in breach of privacy;

To clarify:

threatening, defamatory, offensive, abusive, liable to incite racial hatred, discriminatory, blasphemous, pornographic, in breach of confidence, in breach of privacy;

Let's park 'liable to incite racial hatred' for a moment and concentrate on those two, shall we? The Mail has written another 'white flight' load of shit today (I would link to it but I'm not allowed to, under the terms of usage the Mail has given me!), talking about the numbers of 'white British' people leaving the country. Apparently some 'government figures' say that 'white British' people are emigrating and 'other white' people are moving in. Do they? Well in fact they estimate the numbers, not that that stops the Mail from drawing very obvious conclusions.

And what can the readers say in response? Can they stop themselves from being offensive or discriminatory? What do you think? Also, be on the lookout for some textbook "The reason I bloody emigrated was because of those bastard immigrants" with-a-straight-face-not-realising-the-inherent-contradiction nonsense...

Britain is finished. All the people that emigrate are quality people that Britain can't afford to lose, in contrast thousands that enter the country are of no use whatsoever. There is life after Britain, here in NZ the quality of life ia amazing and people are realising that they don't have to settle for a miserable existence. My advise is, get out of Britain while you're still young enough, you won't regret it.

Offensive? Discriminatory?

Our nation is going to fall apart if something radical doesn't happen because this system is completely unsustainable. We simply cannot maintain the status of a welfare island for the entire third world to pour into.
What's going to happen when the welfare kitty is empty? Chaotic times await...

Offensive? Discriminatory?

we left in 1998 for Auckland NZ. Never looked back. People keep saying why dont you go for a visit. Not on your life - far too much this side of the world to see. UK holds absolutely nothing for us. Good luck to the immigrants who take over - why on earth did we fight WW1 and WW2 - might as well just handed it over to another country there and then. It saddens me that so many people died in war - and for what? Its no longer UK.

How dare England let in immigrants! I'm so angry I've emigrated! Thank god they let the nice whites in and not nasty wogs!

I work overseas as a result of my career, however, walk down any street in London, Birmingham, Leeds or Rochdale etc and see why so many white people are leaving.
All that will be left in the end is a bunch or Politicians who are still deluding themselves and immigrants who couldn't care less.

Offensive? Discriminatory?

I couldn't in all conscience continue to live in the UK like a rat in a trap, paying taxes to support the dole bludgers, immigrants and criminals that seem to breed & thrive in the uk. I felt I had less rights and entitlements in my country of birth than people who just arrived off the boat.
I feel ashamed of the under culture in the uk, I am no longer proud ot be british

Offensive? Discriminatory?

There is no point in staying in UK. The government hates the english hard working people and is determined to drive us out of the country of our birth - absolutely disgraceful. Why should we work hard for the government to give all public money away to people who have no intention of working and with no moral values at all. Abhorrent.

Offensive? Discriminatory?

What hope have people got left, young indigenous youngsters have very little hope of getting somewhere to live and on the housing ladder and yet people coming here apparently have no difficulty in buying property as soon as people move out they snap them up,are they given any kinds of grant enabling them to do this,cannot all be well off. We are at the bottom of the pile,AS USUAL

Offensive? Discriminatory? (Just plain stupid?)

Apparently, none of those comments is offensive. And none is discriminatory either. Whereas you will know, if you've ever tried to submit a reasonable, rational comment to the Mail website, that it's more likely than not that it won't appear at all. All I'm wondering is why the Mail pretends that you shouldn't be offensive or discriminatory when quite clearly it is a condition of actually getting your comment posted in the first place.

As for the article itself, I can't find the source material yet but when I do I'll have a closer look at whether it bears any relationship to the truth or not.

  1. Well, speaking from the emigrant population, for I am one of those; I left England because I’m a complete cunt and you’re all better off without me.

  2. Well, the text is just boilerplate isn’t it. It’s to cover their arses.
