You're probably sitting there shrugging your shoulders saying "Well like duh, Vowl, what did you think? Here's a one-woman campaign to make women out to be as brainlessly vacuous as she is, who's said that gay people don't make as good politicians as straighties, and who is seemingly ashamed of her own child for having a mixed-race appearance. Obviously, she's a witless cunt who should be shot."

I see where you're coming from. But this latest missive from Team Turner struck me as being as inept and fuckwitted as anything she's ever come up with - and it led me to an interesting conclusion. But more of that later.

Don't you go expecting actual medical facts, now. But I don't think you were, somehow.

Which is the weaker sex? It's a long-running argument - men point to women's weaker physical strength, while women are likely to mutter about 'man' flu. But who is better built to withstand disease? LOWRI TURNER asked a panel of medical experts to settle the matter once and for all ....

Oh, ye gods. Don't women live longer than men anyway? No? And what's all this 'weaker sex' business anyway? How are we defining that - by how many people die from different diseases? What? What kind of madness is this? Were these 'medical experts' told the identity of the fool who was collating the data and what conclusion she would inevitably arrive at, given her taste for monstrously stupid concepts?

The male skeleton is bigger and gives them an inherent advantage - larger bones are generally stronger,' says endocrinologist Professor Ignac Fogelman, a consultant physician in nuclear medicine at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust. Stronger bones mean fewer breaks.

Do many people die of broken bones? Or is this about general health?

Weaker sex: WOMEN

Or are women more likely to seek treatment for depression than men? Does that mean they're weaker, or stronger? Don't more men commit suicide than women - or are the women 'weak' for seeking help rather than topping themselves?

Oh, I give up. You can read it for yourself, should you wish to find something that makes you shake with rage at the sheer infantilism of it all. What a load of utter cobblers. Men get certain diseases, women get other ones. Well there we are. And so what? There's no 'weak' or 'strong' about that, is there? Surely only a significantly disturbed individual would be able to draw such a conclusion?

CONCLUSION
Overall, when you add up the number of individuals affected by all these conditions, women are the weaker sex.

Yes, yes I see. Let me tell you what I think is really going on here - I could be wrong, of course, but it's a hypothesis of mine. I think Turner secretly enjoyed being pilloried for her nonsensical arguments about gay politicians; I think she relished being in the limelight when she wrote her utter toss about mixed-race children. Sure, she was being attacked, but she was the centre of attention, wasn't she? That kind of exposure might have been quite a buzz for someone who's been on TV, who's clearly not shy about herself.

Maybe she craves the frisson of excitement that she can only create by writing something truly, stupidly awful and being on the receiving end of withering attacks from left, right and centre. I think that's the only explanation other than she really is bonkers. Either way, there's only one way to deal with all this: just ignore her. Obviously, I've written this, and for all I know she's delighted, but I mean, ignore her starting from now.
