I don't remember him ever pretending to be straight, though obviously the 'illusion' flim-flam is just for the purposes of this hackneyed intro. I'd always kind of assumed he was gay, though it doesn't really matter either way, does it?

Well he does have red hair, is that where it comes from? So, ginger beer = queer = hoho! And next to another story it's 'Derren's Woody hope' - he wants to have Woody Allen on the show. Which I think is meant to be another shambolic gay pun.
What a miserably pisspoor wankrag the Sun is. Shitty gay jokes that even Littlecock would balk at.

And to add insult to insult, this shitty “news” story isn’t news at all – Derren Brown came out in a feature in the Independent on Sunday last September.

The fans aren’t as bad as the paper. 6 so far. 4 don’t care and the other 2 already thought he was gay.
I wouldn’t be so sure about Littlejohn, given his over-obsession with cottaging I wouldn’t be surprised if he mentions this and drops in a couple of “hilarious” puns or punchline.
