The Daily Mail, you say? Running a story about faith hate?
The crime is, of course, horrible. A hate crime that should be punished severely. It's just that these stories take on a life of their own: on other websites, the attackers have become 'Muslims' who were 'drunk', for example.
I like the way the Mail suddenly cares about 'faith hate'. The Daily Mail who printed:
Muslims tell Christians: 'Make peace with us or survival of world is at stake'
Cringing to Muslims is so pointless
Most Britons feel threatened by Islam
A third of Britons believe: 'You can't be British AND Muslim'
'Government and Muslims must do more to tackle extremism'
When will we British learn to stop appeasing terror?
(Mad Mel on Muslims, if you hadn't guessed)
Almost a quarter of Muslims believe 7/7 was justified
Radical Muslim preacher told worshippers that American soldiers would 'rape and murder Iraqi woman and children'
Assertiveness courses to 'help Muslim women resist Al Qaeda'
Muslim women shouldn't wear veils in public, says Archbishop
Muslim fanatics 'will flock to Iraq'
'Only 1 in 5 Britons would feel comfortable with Muslim neighbour'
Outrage as Muslim cleric likens women to 'uncovered meat'
Bishop: Many Muslims have victim mentality
Muslims call for special bank holidays
Terror link of 'moderate' Muslims at London rally
Cameron hits out at 'loud' Muslim groups
Home-grown hatred is the greatest threat to our country
So who is it that is responsible for 'faith hate' exactly? People attacking vicars, or newspapers waging war on Muslims?
Funnily enough I agree with the last headline, if not the story beneath it. Home-grown hatred is, I think, the greatest threat to our country. The sort of hatred you see in the Mail every day.
