Part two, then, of a look at the Express Have Your Say messageboards. A midden of hatred and prejudice: here, among the slurry of casual racism, hatred of any unorthodox or slightly progressive thinking and wearyingly tedious, not to mention illiterate anti-NuLab 'they tax us! a Government actually has the temerity to tax us! And guess who's paying?!?!?!' digs at Haggis McFriedMarsBar, is the soft underbelly of the Daily Express. Here are the kind of people that would make me delighted to abandon my pacifist principles in a nanosecond if I could push their wilfully ignorant mouth-breathing wastes of carbon into an industrial shredder, feet first so they could see their fate approaching and feel the agonising pain.

I think to understand where I'm coming from you need a taste of the untreated filth that passes for comment in the wacky and wonderful world of Web 2.0. Here, laid bare, is the truth about 'interactivity' and 'citizen journalism'. Here are the things that would get chucked in the bin and covered with vomit if they arrived on the desk of a newspaper letters editor; but because it's the internet, it's somehow all right. As I've said previously, I would be intrigued to find out what the criteria are for getting comments on here (and on the Mail site too). Do you have to be an ignorant cunt? Or does that just help? Do you have to attack Gordy McTunnocksteacake? Or is it just a bonus? Are their rules or standards applied? I'm guessing there are some things which are too strong even for the Express to publish - the sort of thing that would physically kill you if you looked at more than ten words, maybe.

ask decent people to pull the lever if hanging is brought back, why don't the Government use a supply of convicted murderers to pull the lever?

Perhaps like a firing squad situation, only a line of levers, where no one would know who actually is the one who kills the person.

That would save the convicted killers from getting a high from another murder. They could then see what will shortly happen to them.

Every piece of evidence suggests that this group is the most economically inactive and most welfare dependant group in the country.
