Working on Christmas Day…
...are police - (1.9% pay rise only in England, due to 'inflationary pressures')
Nurses - (1.5% + 1%, 'to keep inflation low')
Junior doctors - (3%, ditto)
Soldiers - (2%, ditto)
Not working on Christmas Day (and won't be back till January 7th):
MPs - proposed pay rise 10% "because Polish plumbers earn a lot of money"
"Our pay has fallen further behind other similar groups and we are not prepared to put up with it any longer. We earn less than some Polish plumbers, and that can't be right."
It fucking can. I bet if I called up a Polish plumber now, at 10.45pm on Christmas bloody day, he'd come round. If I called up my MP, I doubt I'd get the same service.
Funny how "inflationary pressures" don't really matter when it comes to the self-serving bastards with their noses in the trough, isn't it. Utter, utter cunts.
